Carly Welch PhD

Dr. Carly Welch is a clinical research fellow in geriatric medicine at the University of Birmingham’s Institute of Inflammation and Ageing, and Chair and Co-Founder of GeMRC. Her research interests include acute sarcopenia, hospital-associated deconditioning, delirium, advanced care planning, and biological mechanisms of aging. She is particularly interested in research trials designed to improve outcomes in hospitalized older people and implementing pragmatic interventions into clinical practice.
