Dr. Carlos Singer, MD, is a Professor of Neurology and Director of the Division of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders in the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he completed his medical studies at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1972. His postgraduate training included three years of medical residency at the Montefiore Hospital of the University of Pittsburg, three years of neurology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine affiliated hospitals in the Bronx, NY, one year of EMG fellowship, and two years of movement disorders fellowship at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Singer is board certified in both internal medicine and neurology. His practice is dedicated to the treatment of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. In 1990, he founded and directed the first clinic in Florida to inject Botulinum toxin for neurological disorders. Dr. Singer's interests include clinical trials in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and Huntington's disease. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles on the subject. Dr. Singer is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Neurological Association, the Movement Disorder Society, the Parkinson Study Group, the Huntington Study Group, and the Dystonia Study Group.
