Carlos Nicolau MD, PhD

Dr. Carlos Nicolau is a Professor of Radiology and Head of the Urogenital Section at Hospital Clinic, Barcelona. With over 30 years of experience, he specializes in oncology imaging, renal transplant, and interventional procedures such as kidney and prostate biopsies. He has led multiple research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Health and has published extensively in international journals.

Nicolau is an active member of SERAM, where he served on the board and led the Scientific Commission (2012-2016). He is also part of ESUR’s Renal Working Group and Female Pelvic Imaging Working Group and was President of the ESUR Meeting in 2018. He is the author of more than 100 international articles and more than 25 book chapters related to abdominal radiology.
