Carlos M. Abril Vega MD

Carlos M. Abril Vega, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Abril Vega was the Chief of the Colorectal Section at the University Clinic Hospital of Valladolid in Spain.

He earned his PhD in 1998 working in the Experimental Surgery Laboratory at the School of Medicine in Valladolid before working in the acute care surgery area for two years and moving to Hospital El Bierzo (Ponferrada) as Staff General Surgeon. He then returned to the University Clinic Hospital of Valladolid as Staff General Surgeon and became Associated Professor of the Surgery Department within the School of Medicine at the University of Valladolid in 2006.

Dr. Abril Vega completed his Medical degree at the University of Valladolid School of Medicine in Valladolid, Spain, and the University of Madrid between 1986 and 1992. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University Clinic Hospital of Valladolid.ed
