Carlos J. Camacho, Ph.D., Co-Founder of Carmolex, is Professor of Computational and Systems Biology, University of Pittsburgh, and is an expert in protein-protein interactions. In more than 60 publications, he revealed the role of desolvation and anchor residues in recognition, developing the first docking program “ClusPro” (licensed to SchrodingerLLC), and novel interactive technologies (AnchorQuery, PocketQuery, ANCHOR, and ZINCPharmer) for leveraging protein structures as small-molecule inhibitor starting points.
