Carlos Diaz PhD

Carlos Rascon obtained a bachelor's degree (1992) and a doctorate (1997) in Physical Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He carried out a research stay at the Imperial College of Science and Technology in London (1997-2000), where he received a Marie Curie fellowship from the European Commission. After a period as a researcher at the University of Edinburgh and a Ramón y Cajal contract, he is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Carlos III University of Madrid. His field of specialization is Theoretical Physics of Condensed Matter; in particular, the study of fluids in equilibrium: Adsorption of fluids on substrates (Wetting), Density functional theory, Hydrophobic surfaces, and Capillarity.
