Dr. Barrero earned his BDS (1992) from the University El Bosque in Bogotá Colombia in 1992. After practicing general dentistry for a year, he pursued his postgraduate training in Prosthodontics (1998) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He continued his involvement in research and academics and a year later (1999) he was granted with a Masters Degree in Oral Biology from UMDNJ. Dr. Barrero was a full-time clinical instructor at UNC-CH School of Dentistry from 1999-2000. Most recently, he held an Assistant Professor position with the University of Minnesota-School of Dentistry for 8 years. Dr. Barrero returned to North Carolina as a Clinical Associate Professor of Prosthodontics in 2008 where he practices and teaches all phases of Prosthodontic dentistry
