Carlos Alfonso MD

Carlos E Alfonso, MD, is a board certified interventional cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is a Miami native of Cuban-American descent who graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2002, and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He subsequently completed internal medicine and cardiovascular training at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital training program.

After completing further training in interventional cardiology in 2008-2009 he stayed on faculty with the University of Miami, working at the University of Miami Hospital as well as Jackson Memorial Hospital. He also has a part-time appointment to the Miami Veterans Administration Hospital where he spends part of his time doing interventional procedures. Clinically he is fully trained in interventional cardiology procedures including percutaneous coronary interventions including complex coronary disease, structural heart disease and transcatheter valve therapies, and peripheral vascular endovascular interventions.
