Carlheinz Rudolf Muller MD, PhD

Dr. med. Dr. rer. Biol. Hum. Carlheinz Müller is Managing Director of the Central Bone Marrow Donor Registry Germany (ZKRD). He studied mathematics, theoretical physics and human medicine in Munich and, after several years in the computer industry, trained as a specialist in transfusion medicine. His research interests include biostatistical algorithms and population genetic methods and their application to optimize the search and selection of blood stem cell donors. He also heads the data center of the German Register for Stem Cell Transplantation (DRST), is active in many national and international committees and professional societies and is currently president of the World Marrow Donor Association, the worldwide umbrella organization of donor registries.
