Carla Murgia PhD

Dr. Murgia's previous leadership experience includes Interim Chair, Performing Arts Department, Alfred University and Founding Chair, Department of Public and Allied Health Sciences, Delaware State University. She has received numerous Department of Education grants, which supported the development of state of the art Movement Analysis and Exercise Physiology labs. During and following pursuit of her bachelor's degree Dr. Murgia danced with various concert dance companies in New York and Philadelphia. Her interests in injury prevention provided the impetus to persue doctoral study in gross and neuro anatomy, biomechanics, sports medicine and engineering. Throughout her career Dr. Murgia has emphasized the need for research information dissemination, application and community engagement. She serves as Education Editor Journal of Dance Medicine and Science.
