Dr. Carla Sevin received her undergraduate degree from Duke University in 1997 and her M.D. from the University of South Florida in 2004. She trained in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University and completed a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship there. She received additional subspecialty training at the UniverstitätsSpital in Zürich, Switzerland, and the University of California in San Francisco, CA.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Her clinical interests include the care of patients with occupational lung diseases and long term outcomes after critical illness. Her research interests include the study of inflammatory lung diseases. She is interested in immunologic pathways that result in asthma, allergy, and chronic lung disease, and how various exposures accelerate the development of these inflammatory processes.
