Carl Beyer MD

Major Carl Beyer grew up on the Florida Gulf Coast and received a B.A. in economics from the University of Florida. After college, he completed his M.D. at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He then moved to Sacramento, CA for General Surgery training in the integrated UC Davis Health/David Grant USAF Medical Center residency. During his two years of dedicated research, he focused on using DoD and VA data to study long-term trauma outcomes and translational trauma resuscitation research. Dr. Beyer then completed his Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, he is serving as a Staff Trauma & Critical Care Surgeon with the 6th Medical Group at MacDill AFB and developing the military-civilian partnership with the University of South Florida as an Assistant Professor of Surgery.
