Candace H. Schoppe MD

Candace H. Schoppe, MD, is a forensic pathologist at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences and an Assistant Professor of Pathology at the UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. She began her career as a forensic examiner while attending Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She attended medical school at UT Houston and completed a pathology residency at Wake Forest in North Carolina. Candace subsequently completed both forensic and neuropathology/cardiac pathology fellowships at the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner. Dr. Schoppe is board certified in anatomic, clinical, and forensic pathology. Dr. Schoppe has conducted research and co-presented workshops at national forensic science meetings on topics relevant to child death investigations. She currently serves on the Child Death Review Committee for Dallas County.
