Caitlin Silvester has worked as a dietitian for 37 years, of which the last 14 year has been primarily with older to very old people. She currently works at Mercy Health Albury which is a hospital for geriatric evaluation and rehabilitation of older people and palliative care. In this clinical role, the workload involves nutrition support for issues such as falls, neurodegenerative disease, gastrointestinal disorders, dysphagia, wounds, and cancer, usually in the context of multiple comorbidities. Caitlin is a co-author of the "Evidence-based practice guidelines for the nutritional management of malnutrition in adults patients across the continuum of care" published in 2010. She is currently completing the third year of a Bachelor of Dementia Care through the University of Tasmania.
