Burak Turna MD

Burak Turna is a Professor of Urology at Ege University School of Medicine, Izmir, Turkey, one of the largest academic institutions in the country. He has several teaching assignments, including the member of the executive board of surgical internship. Dr. Turna received his medical degree from Dokuz Eylul University and completed his urology residency program at Ege University Department of Urology, Turkey. During his training, he worked as an intern and SHO in England.

After completion of his residency, Dr. Turna passed the qualifying exam for the “FEBU” Certification. He received the “EBU” Clinical Fellowship Award in Endourology in 2004 and worked in Western General Hospital, UK. Dr. Turna also completed a research fellowship in Advanced Urologic Laparoscopy and Robotic Surgery in Cleveland Clinic, the USA between 2006-2007.

After his return from abroad, Dr. Turna has helped his home department to standardize and advance endourology, laparoscopy and recently robotic surgery. Dr. Turna has been involved in the Turkish Endourological Society’s scientific and educational activities and currently works as a general secretary. Dr. Turna is also working as an Associate for ESUT.
