Bryson W. Katona MD, PhD

Bryson W. Katona is the Director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Genetics Program at Penn Medicine, the Director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Risk Evaluation Program at Penn Medicine, and the Director of the Lynch Syndrome Program at Penn Medicine. He is a member of the Abramson Cancer Center's Cancer Control Program and the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics. He obtained a B.A. and an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, and an M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine.

He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for Cancer Research (International), the American Gastroenterological Association (International), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) (International), the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Gastrointestinal Cancer (International), the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group (National), the Gastrointestinal Steering Committee of the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health (National), the International Society for Gastrointestinal Hereditary Tumors (InSiGHT) (International), the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (National), the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (International), and the Pancreatic Cancer Early Detection (PRECEDE) Consortium (International).
