Dr. Zuraw directs UC San Diego Health System’s angioedema program. Board-certified in allergy and immunology, he is a driving force behind hereditary angioedema research in the U.S. He is currently leading a variety of clinical and translational studies of bradykinin-mediated angioedema. Dr. Zuraw also has NIH supported research projects involving the role of the airway epithelial cell in the regulation of asthmatic inflammation. Areas of clinical expertise include: all forms of angioedema, urticaria, allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, allergen immunotherapy, anaphylaxis, and sinusitis. Dr. Zuraw has been listed in the Best Doctors in America every year from 1996 to the present.

Dr. Zuraw is the Division Chief of the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology in the Department of Medicine, UC San Diego. He is the Director of the Section of Allergy and Immunology at the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System and head of the Allergy & Immunology section of the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology at UC San Diego. He directs the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program. Dr. Zuraw is also inaugural holder of the US Hereditary Angioedema Association (HAEA) Endowed Chair.
