Brooke Cherven is a PhD student and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she works with Dr. Wendy Landier as her primary mentor. Brooke earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and her Masters of Public Health from Emory University. For the past 15 years, Brooke has worked as a pediatric oncology nurse in the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, specifically focusing on childhood cancer survivorship over the last 11 years. She has been a member of the Children’s Oncology Group since 2006, and currently serves on the sexual health task force through the AYA committee in COG. Her research interests include sexual health and HPV vaccination for survivors of childhood cancer.
