Brooke is a graduate of Des Moines University with a Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Her undergraduate degree was completed at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Biology, with minor degrees in Chemistry and Psychology. Upon graduation, she practiced emergency medicine and trauma at a critical access hospital in Kansas, where she also served as interim administrator. There, she also covered the family medicine clinic, two nursing homes, and patients on the ward. She then moved to Houston and began working at MD Anderson Cancer Center in plastic and reconstructive surgery where she currently practices.
She is a didactic preceptor at Baylor College of Medicine, clinical PA preceptor for PA and medical students on surgical rotations. She teaches basic and advanced surgical workshops at MD Anderson and Texas Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA), where she also serves as a conference lecturer. Brooke is an active member of TGCPAA where she currently serves as the professional development chair. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Healthcare Administration program.
