Dr. Thomson received his B.S. in Biological Sciences at Stanford University in Stanford, California, and obtained his M.D. from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Thomson has been a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 1999. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Brook Thomson currently serves as Associate Professor and Division Director for the Obstetrics Hospitalist Program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Baylor College of Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. He separated from the U.S. Army in 2004, after 15 years of service, where he rose to the rank of Major Promotable. His military leadership experience included one deployment to Kuwait and Iraq and tours to Washington, D.C., California and Alaska. He served as Chief of Obstetrics in Washington and Germany. Among his military awards is the Meritorious Service Medal. After leaving the military, he served as Chief, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in La Grande, Oregon and Boise, Idaho where he also served as Chair of the Leadership Council. He built an Obstetric Hospitalist program where he served for seven years before moving to San Antonio. He has been awarded two patents and has helped develop several electronic medical records.
