Dr. Brijesh Dineshchandra Patel is currently working at West Virginia University as an Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine and non-invasive Cardiologist. His current area of interest is cardio-oncology, heart failure, and echocardiography. He completed a cardiology fellowship at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He served as a chief resident during his residency at Providence-Providence Park Hospital. His strengths in problem-solving skills and calm demeanor have allowed him to succeed in this role. As a resident, he earned the Internal Medicine Research Award and the Resident of the Year Award. He was awarded Quality Research Award when he was on fellowship. He is actively involved in large databases and clinical research in cardiology and has many publications. He is also serving as an editorial board member for JACC: Case Report journal. He has received an intramural grant for research. He is very passionate about teaching and has a strong will to continue his role as a teacher in the future.
