Brian Van Ness, MS, PA-C, is a dedicated Physician Assistant with extensive experience in both clinical and administrative healthcare roles. Brian began his medical career as an EMT, then progressed to become a Registered Nurse, spending 10 years in the Emergency Department and ICU settings before earning his PA degree from Seton Hall University in 2002. Over the past 22+ years, he has worked across the United States, specializing in critical care, trauma, and acute care surgery.

Brian currently serves as a Physician Assistant at Stanford Health Care, where he practices on the hospitalist medicine service and contributes to education by teaching at multiple PA programs nationwide. His clinical expertise is complemented by his commitment to mentorship and professional development within the PA community. Outside of medicine, Brian enjoys outdoor pursuits like skiing and hiking, and loves traveling and exploring the world. At AAPA 2025, he will present “Rogue Rhythms: Tackling the Challenges of Emergency Cardiac Arrhythmias,” sharing insights from his extensive experience in emergency care.
