Brian Michael Shafer MD

Dr. Brian Shafer is a cataract, refractive, cornea, and glaucoma surgeon serving patients in the Chester County and Main Line area. He entered medicine to encourage meaningful improvements to each patient’s quality of life by providing the eye care they need and deserve. During his fellowship, Dr. Shafer completed thousands of vision-correcting procedures, corneal transplants, and glaucoma surgeries while learning from pioneers of refractive surgery. He is actively involved in research and has been an investigator on dozens of clinical trials. In addition, he regularly publishes research studies and articles and is actively involved in writing textbook chapters. Dr. Shafer is passionate about education and volunteers his time at the Scheie Eye Institute’s resident clinic to teach the next generation of ophthalmologists.
