Brian D. Rinker MD

Brian D. Rinker, M.D., is Chair in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He specializes in advanced reconstructive surgery, with a clinical focus on reconstructing defects following trauma or cancer treatment, aesthetic surgery of the face and body, and reconstructive breast surgery.

Dr. Rinker earned his medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, followed by a general surgery residency at New York University Medical Center in New York, New York, where he went on to complete a residency in plastic surgery and a hand surgery fellowship.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Rinker is active in research and education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows. He has authored more than 100 book chapters and articles in high-impact journals, is frequently invited to speak at national and international meetings, and has received national recognition for his clinical and translational research.
