Brett A. Byers MD, FRCSC

Dr. Brett A. Byers is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon who joins our Calgary practice. In addition to practicing at Macleod Trail Plastic Surgery, Dr. Byers operates and runs clinics out of the Rockyview General Hospital, in addition to being a clinical lecturer at the University of Calgary.

Before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Byers completed years of intensive specialized training in all areas of plastic surgery. After earning an undergraduate degree in physical therapy from the University of Saskatchewan, he earned his medical degree from the same university's College of Medicine. He was then accepted into the University of Calgary's plastic surgery residency program, training there for 5 years. He then completed a year of subspecialty fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at Western University in London, Ontario. His clinical interests are in hand and peripheral nerve surgery, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.
