Dr. Brandon Brown is a fetal and pediatric radiologist, focusing his care on imaging for the perinatal period. Dr. Brown is a founding member of the Fetal Center at Riley Children's Health and a member of the Fetal Committee for the Society for Pediatric Radiology. He completed his undergraduate degree in politial philosophy at the University of Dallas in Texas, and completed a joint degree program in medicine and philosophy and Indiana University.His residency and fellowship training in pediatric radiology were also completed at Indiana University. Dr. Brown's clinical work is closely aligned with his research, which focuses on using advanced imaging to counsel families with high-risk pregnancy and to more accurately diagnose complex congenital anomalies. He is also engaged in research on the human placenta, focusing on placental blood flow and its relationship to fetal abnormalities.

In 2005, he served as a graduate research fellow for the Indiana University Center for Bioethics, and has since stayed active in the areas of medical ethics and professionalism. He is a member of the section on Bioethics for the American Academy of Pediatrics, serves as chair of the Ethics and Professionalism Committee for the Society for Pediatric Radiology, and is a member of the Professionalism Committee for the Radiologic Society of North America. Here at IU, he is chair of the Teacher-Learner Advocacy Committee at Indiana University School of Medicine, and has taught medical ethics for the School of Medicine since 2014. He also taught bioethics at Butler University in Indianapolis for 6 years, and has taught in the departments of Philosophy as well as Medical Humanities and Health Studies at Indiana University - Indianapolis since 2014. His work is at the intersection of several areas of medicine, and he is a member of the Departments of Radiology, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Brown's varied work in fetal medicine, perinatal imaging, medical ethics and professionalism, and medical education combine to allow him to stay in close contact with the clinical, research, and educational missions of medicine. Most importantly, they all contribute to revealing new and innovative ways to care for some of Indiana's youngest patients.
