Blossom A. Damania PhD

Dr. Blossom Damania is a Professor of Microbiology & Immunology at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Dr. Damania graduated summa cum laude in Biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College, MA in 1992. She obtained her Ph.D. in Cell & Molecular Biology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1998 followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at NEPRC, Harvard Medical School, from 1998-2000. Dr. Damania joined UNC-Chapel Hill in October 2000 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006. She currently works on oncogenic DNA tumor viruses, including Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) and rhesus monkey rhadinovirus.
