Dr Blánaid Hayes is Dean of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in Ireland. Dr Hayes has worked as a consultant occupational physician at Beaumont Hospital. She also has experience in providing occupational medical advice to industry, having worked with IBM Ireland over a ten year period. She is a former National Specialty Director in Occupational Medicine and former President of the Irish Society of Occupational Medicine. She obtained Membership of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (MFOM) in 1994, Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 1997 and Fellowship of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. She completed her MD (RCSI) . Her research interests include doctors’ wellbeing, needle stick injury and influenza immunisation in healthcare workers. She is currently lead investigator in a national study on wellbeing in hospital doctors in Ireland, the first of its kind in this country.
