Birgit H. Amann, M.D., is a graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine. She pursued her residency in Adult Psychiatry through Henry Ford Health Systems. Following her residency, she completed a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, MI.
Following graduation, Dr. Amann spent nine years as the Associate Medical Director for the Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine in Rochester Hills, MI.
Currently, Dr. Amann is the Medical Director of the Behavioral Medical Center in Troy, MI. She treats children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Amann is board certified in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry.
Dr. Amann has served as both a primary and sub-investigator in numerous AD/HD and mood disorder medication trials in children, adolescents, and adults. Her professional interests include the treatment of affective disorders and AD/HD throughout the life cycle.
Dr. Amann lectures extensively on numerous topics throughout the country. Additionally, she has spoken internationally on the topic of ADHD. She has been the expert faculty for several national television and radio broadcasts targeting mood disorders and AD/HD.
