Bharat Soni MS, BS

Dr. Soni received his BS and MS degrees in Statistics with minor Operations Research and Econometrics from Maharaja Sayajirao University, India and doctoral degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Texas in 1979. After 2 years industry experience at Bell Helicopter Company, Texas and 7 years at Arnold Engineering Development Center, Arnold AFS, Tennessee as well as adjunct teaching at University of Tennessee Space Institute (UTSI), he joined the academic world at Mississippi State University (MSU) as an Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering in 1988.

Until, June 30, 2002, He was the Director for the Center for Computational Systems (CCS), Engineering Research Center (ERC), and a Professor and Eminent Scholar of Aerospace Engineering at MSU. He joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) as a Chair and Professor of Mechanical Engineering in July 2002. Since August 1, 2013, he has been at the Tennessee Technology University (TTU) as the Vice President of Research and Economic Development. In 2010, he was recognized for Innovation and Economic Development by Alabama India Business Partnership Organization, Birmingham, Alabama.
