Bettina Kemkes-matthes MD

Prof. Dr. Medical Bettina Kemkes-Matthes has headed the interdisciplinary focus on hemostaseology at the University Hospitals in Giessen and Marburg since 2006. She is a specialist in internal medicine, hematology/oncology, angiology and hemostaseology. In the latter, she wrote her doctoral thesis in 1982, which was followed by her habilitation in 1993. Research in these areas is of particular concern to Prof. Kemkes-Matthes. She published over 100 publications and received the honorary award of the German Society for Thrombosis and Hemostasis Research in 2015 and the honorary award of the Faculty of Medicine at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen the following year.
