Beth Bock is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University and a Professor in Behavioral and Social Sciences at the Brown School of Public Health. Her research focuses on the promotion of physical activity and interventions to address substance use through the application of complementary therapies including positive psychology, yoga, and mindfulness approaches. Her research also focuses on the development of technology-delivered interventions including text messaging, smartphone apps, and gaming to improve health. Dr. Bock was born in Saratoga Springs, New York, and received her doctoral degree in psychology from Tufts University. She interned in Behavioral Medicine at Harvard University, at the Cambridge Hospital and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at Brown University. She is currently a Senior Research Scientist at The Miriam Hospital and holds professorships in the Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and in Behavioral and Social Sciences at the Brown University School of Public Health.
