Dr. Beshoy T. Yanny is a board-certified UCI Health hepatologist who specializes in general and transplant hepatology and focuses on treating patients with a wide spectrum of liver disorders. He cares for patients with liver cirrhosis and its spectrum of complications. He also cares for patients before and after liver transplantation. His research interests include autoimmune liver disease, primary biliary cholangitis, steatohepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and viral hepatitis B and C.

Yanny completed his internal medicine residency at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Following his internal medicine training, he served as the inaugural transplant hepatology hospitalist at Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Medical Center, for one year. He completed his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Medical Center. Yanny moved to UCLA as the inaugural transplant hepatology fellow, where he completed his training. Following a liver transplant fellowship, he established the general and transplant hepatology program at UCLA Santa Monica campus and community offices. He served as the inaugural program leader from 2018 to 2026.

Yanny now serves as the Associate Director of Hepatology at UC Irvine School of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology. He has published and presented research at multiple national and international societies, including AASLD, EASL, GUILD, and DDW.
