Bernard Devauchelle MD

Dr. Bernard Devauchelle was born in Amiens (FR) in the middle of the last century, he was a student in Amiens to receive all medical degrees and the specialty ones, maxillofacial surgery and stomatology in Paris and then plastic and reconstructive surgery. Doctor Bernard Devauchelle is an experienced specialist in maxillofacial surgery, plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, areas he has been practicing with great professionalism for several years. He studied at the Faculty of Medicine of Amiens where he presented his thesis in 1980. Between 1980 and 1984, he was Head of the Clinic and Hospital Assistant (Amiens – Paris Pitie Salpetriere). In 1988, he participated in an aggregation competition and was appointed University Professor. Between 1973 and 1980, he was a hospital intern (Amiens – CMC Foch Suresnes). In 1984, he was a hospital practitioner and in 1986, he was Head of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Stomatology at the University Hospital of Amiens. He sits on the editorial board of various international journals. He is a member of several scientific institutions such as the Deutsche Akademie der Naturforsher Leopoldina and the French Academy of Surgery. In 2005, he carried out, with his team working at the University Hospital of Amiens, the first partial face transplant on a patient disfigured by her dog.
