Benjamin J. Marsland PhD

Benjamin Marsland, born in 1977 and an Anglo-New Zealand citizen, studied science at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Between 1999 and 2002, he did his doctorate at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research at the same university. He studies the effect of influenza virus infection on murine models of airway inflammation of allergic origin. The quality of her thesis work is rewarded with several awards including excellence in basic research from the University of Otago School of Medicine, Wellington Health and Biomedical Society's Best Young Researcher Award, and three travel awards.
