Benjamin Hassid MD

Benjamin Godtland Hassid is honored to be a physician at Kaiser Permanente, as he strongly believes in its mission and model of care. He was inspired to become a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with a special clinical interest in inflammatory bowel disease after a close family member was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and he witnessed the positive impact that great care can have on patients' lives. Because he has experienced chronic GI illness from both the patient and provider perspectives, he understands the challenges that patients and their families face, and I strive to equal the high-quality care that he has personally experienced. He has lived in many parts of the country and am thrilled to now call the East Bay home. He arrived in the Bay Area for his training in gastroenterology, which he completed at UCSF. Prior to that time, he spent most of his childhood in Memphis and completed much of his medical training in New York City. In his free time, he most enjoys spending time with his friends and family, especially his daughter and wife.
