Benjamin E. Simpson

Simpson is currently working as a Legislative Liaison with the Tennessee Department of Health. As a member of the Assistant Commissioner for Legislative Services team he help draft and pass the Commissioner of Health's initiatives each year. This legislation is vital part of the administrative package put forth by Governor Bill Haslam. His focus is on bill drafting, messaging and lobbying for the passage of the legislation.

He worked as a small claims examiner and insurance litigation specialist with the State of Tennessee Division of Claims Administration. He focused on liability claims of all types against the state under the amount of $25,000. He familiar with all types of tortious claims and actions.

He have investigated, defended, adjusted and settled claims on the states behalf. These claims are settled in consultation with the Attorney General’s office, the participating department of the State and the Director of the Division of Claims. He have extensive experience in risk management, liability limitation, personal injury law, property damage law, insurance law, and tort litigation. He adept at taking many forms of information from several departments and making them into a workable synopsis from which a recommendation on liability is made.
