Ben Vainer MD, PhD, DMSc

Dr. Vainer is a Professor of pathology at Department of Pathology, Rigshospitalet, and at Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, with the responsibility to develop and implement digital methods in pathology.

Consultant pathologist at Department of Pathology, Rigshospitalet.

Diagnostic expertise: liver pathology (including transplantation pathology) and urological pathology (primarily prostate and bladder). Digitalisation.

Research interests are digitalization, fibrogenesis in chronic liver disease, mechanisms of metastasis to the liver and prognostic and predictive factors of prostata and colorectal cancer. Scientific cooperation with several research groups at Rigshospitalet and University of Copenhagen as well as with private biotech-companies.

More than 100 publications in peer-reviewed, scientific journals and 1800 citations. H-index 22.
