Ben Patel MBA, MS

Ben Patel will be the chief information officer at Cone Health, effective July 16. Patel comes to Cone Health from Sinai Health System in Chicago, where he worked as a chief information officer. Patel brings considerable expertise in telehealth and mobile technology, both of which are crucial to improving health care experiences for patients, providers and staff. He also has experience in applying technology to value-based care and population health. Those are two other areas of critical importance to Cone Health. Patel obtained his bachelor’s degree from Sardar Patel University in Gujarat, India.

He earned a Master of Science degree in computer science from DePaul University in Chicago and a Master of Business Administration degree from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Patel worked as executive director of information technology for Yale-New Haven Health System and Yale School of Medicine. He also was assistant director of information technology at the University of Chicago Medicine, where he earned InfoWorld’s top IT award in 2009. Patel leads an information technology team of 320 professionals across Cone Health.
