Ben has been a Teaching Associate with Monash University Department of Community Emergency Health and Paramedic Practice since 2003 and is currently a Teaching Associate in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Ben has extensive experience in prehospital critical care and is an operational Intensive Care Flight Paramedic (MICA) with Air Ambulance Victoria. Ben has a keen interest in prehospital critical care, advanced clinical assessment, prehospital critical care interventions and developing clinical judgment in critical care practitioners. POCUS is one of his passions.
Ben has been heavily involved with the development and implementation of contemporary prehospital clinical practice guidelines both locally and internationally. He played a significant role in the introduction of POCUS to the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service in Victoria. Ben is a Ph.D. candidate at Monash University, and his project is investigating the physiological and metabolic health of paramedics, as well as specialist paramedic task performance.
