Bellal A. Joseph MD, FACS

Bellal Joseph, MD, FACS, is an associate professor and the vice chair for knowledge expansion in the Department of Surgery at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine - Tucson. He is also the chief of the Division of Trauma, Acute Care, Burn, and Emergency Surgery.

Dr. Joseph received his surgical training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and subsequently did his fellowship at Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, at the University of Maryland. Dr. Joseph joined the University of Arizona in 2009 and has since excelled as a national figure in trauma surgery. In addition to being a board-certified clinician, Dr. Joseph is the associate director of the Surgical Critical Care/Acute Care Fellowship Programs, director of the Southern Arizona Tele-Trauma Program, associate director of Telesurgery, and director of outpatient clinics for trauma/emergency surgery.
