Belen Carrillo-rivas PhD

Currently serve as the Head of R&D Innovation Projects for Pfizer BioTherapeutics (BioTx) Research & Development Division. Lead the identification, creation and implementation and of key strategic and operational initiatives in direct support of research and clinical development activities. During her time at Pfizer, have been instrumental on building Pfizer’s Biotherapeutics entrepreneurial R&D units leading a project centered valuation driven initiative that resulted in the consolidation of the current pipeline. Currently serve a crucial role in the realization of the innovative and meaningful approaches by which to integrate the R&D ecosystem bringing together key stakeholders in alignment to pursue the goal of delivering differentiated medicines of value. To this end, have identified and established partnerships and alliances with external entities to extend the scientific and development capabilities and innovation of BioTx research teams across different therapeutic areas and Precision Medicine (identified and lead the execution of ground-breaking deals with 23andme). Served a cornerstone role in the formation and institution of the Pfizer Centers for Therapeutic Innovation (CTI) and has been instrumental in the realization of the Pfizer’s End-to-End Biologics initiative to transform Pfizer’s science and approach in the development of optimized biologics across all stages of the drug development process through to commercialization. In realizing this effort led the identification and establishment of the Pfizer-MIT Synthetic Biology Alliance.
