Behzad Mehrafrooz, MSc, Ph.D., is a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mehrafrooz received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the K.N. Toosi University of Technology (2010-2014). His BSc thesis concentrated on the Dynamic simulation of planar and spatial manipulators via an Open Dynamics engine. Since September 2014 He is currently pursuing an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. He is currently a full-time researcher at the Human and Robot Interaction Laboratory of the university of Tehran. His main research interests are related to kinematics and dynamics of robotic manipulators. He developed analytical models for real-time inverse and forward dynamics analysis. On the simulation side, he worked on developing a real-time Graphical User Interface (GUI) for kinematic and dynamic simulations. As a part of his project in TAAR Lab, he is developing a real-time algorithm for dynamic modeling of fully-actuated and redundant serial and parallel manipulators in which Open Dynamics Engine and Matlab (more precisely, Open-DE and Matlab and SolidWorks) are linked.
