Beat Hintermann MD

Beat Hintermann, MD, is the Founder and Chair of the Center of Excellence for Foot and Ankle. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Clinic for Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Kantonsspital Baselland (Switzerland) for more than 15 years. An innovator in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Hintermann has been a leader in the introduction of new techniques and procedures such as ankle arthroscopy, correcting osteotomies and arthrodeses of the hindfoot complex, and total ankle replacement. Dr. Hintermann was the main concept of the H3 ankle (Hintermann Series, former Integra), which was approved by the US Food & Drug Administration in 2019. He also developed the H2 ankle with Roxa Ruiz, MD.
