Basel Altrabulsi MD

Dr. Altrabulsi graduated from the Medical School of Damascus University in 1996, spending his internship and pathology residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas from 1999 to 2003, becoming Chief Resident in 2001. Dr. Altrabulsi completed his Surgical Pathology Fellowship followed by a Clinical Research Training Program at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 2004, and received his American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Certification in July 2004.

In addition to serving as CAP Inspection Team Leader, his professional career has included leadership positions in several laboratories across the USA, having served as Chief of Service and Medical Director at the Baylor University Medical Center (Waxahachie, Texas), Anatomical, Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Services from 2004 to 2007; Director of the Histology Laboratory at Greater Dallas Pathology between 2008 and 2010, and Medical Director of the Arlington Cancer Center (2008-2011). and the Laboratory Corporation of America, Southwest Division.

Dr. Altrabulsi has authored many research publications and is a member of a number of professional organizations, as well as international elite societies such as the International Society of Urological Pathology, International Society of Breast Pathology and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. Dr. Altrabulsi joined National Reference Laboratory as Medical Director in 2015.
