Bartlomiej Perek MD, PhD

Dr. Bartlomiej Perek is a Cardiac surgeon specialist and professor of medicine and health sciences. He graduated with honors from the Medical Academy in Poznań in 1996, where he was then employed. In the years 1997-1999, he was on a scientific scholarship at the leading European heart surgery center in Leuven (Belgium). He received his doctorate in 2000 under the supervision of Professor Wojciech Dyszkiewicz. He habilitated in 2014 and received the title of professor from the President of the Republic of Poland in 2020. Currently, he works as a professor at the Cardiac Surgery Clinic of the Medical University of Karol Marcinkowski in Poznań. He performs aortocoronary bypass surgery (mainly without extracorporeal circulation on a beating heart), valvular defects, aneurysms, and aortic dissections. He is the managing editor of the quarterly "Kardiochirurgia I Torakochirurgia Polska".
