Barry M. Panter, M.D. PhD is a Fellow of The American Psychiatric Association. Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at The University of Southern California School of Medicine. (Emeritus) He is a Training and Supervising Analyst at The Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute (Emeritus). He is the first author and co-editor of Creativity and Madness—Psychological Studies of Art and Artists. He is the Founder and Director of The American Institute of Medical Education, a non-profit educational organization that provides continuing education to physicians, psychologists and other mental health professionals. The Institute has held over 100 conferences in The United States, Europe, and Australia, since its founding in 1982. He is a Fellow of The American Psychiatric Association, a past member of The American Psychoanalytic Association, and The International Psychoanalytic Association.
