Barry Lumb MD, FRCP

Dr. Lumb is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University. He completed his MD in 1979, General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in 1984, all at McMaster University.

He was a full time clinician from 1984 - 2008 with a major interest in IBD, interventional endoscopy and in particular, ERCP. He has been very involved with health administration and education and served on the Royal College Examination Board for five years, including three years as Chair of the Board.

In April 2008, he was appointed as Chief of Medicine at Hamilton Health Sciences and has reduced his clinical practice to focus on the complex administrative issues of the Department. He maintains an active interest in resident education and interventional endoscopy.
