Barry B. Goldberg MD

Dr. Barry B. Goldberg, until his retirement, was Director of the Division of Ultrasound and the Jefferson Ultrasound Research and Educational Institute (JUREI) at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is a past president of ICUS and other leading ultrasound professional societies, including the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), and is a recipient of the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service to Radiology – American Roentgen Ray Society. His major research is devoted to the uses of ultrasound contrast agents. Dr. Goldberg has been named a Fellow of several professional institutions and recognized with numerous awards. He has written numerous peer-reviewed papers, written and/or edited several books, and received many grants from government, foundations, and industry.
