Barbara Shearer PhD, BDS, MDS

Barbara Shearer is the Director of Professional Strategy and Innovation at the Colgate-Palmolive Company. In this role, she and her team are responsible for in-person and online professional education programs, as well as interactions with Dental Professionals, Professional Associations, and Key, Thought Leaders. Barbara believes that education is the key to improving oral health. Originally from Dunedin, New Zealand Barbara trained as a Dentist with specialist training in Prosthodontics and a Ph.D. in Oral Pathology. The majority of Barbara’s career has been in the industry, initially with Unilever Research in Port Sunlight, England where she was involved in designing and managing clinical trials, global outreach programs, and professional relations. Barbara joined Colgate in New Zealand in 2004 and moved to Sydney, Australia in 2006 then to New York in 2010.
